st. luke's kate graham scholarship
To all graduating high school students and those currently enrolled college students who are interested in receiving a scholarship from our church:
Here you will find an application for the Kate Graham Scholarship Fund and a brief summary of the extra Kate Graham award for outstanding accomplishments.
Each year since 1988, our Scholarship Committee has granted monetary awards to young adult members (ages 17-24) of St. Luke’s Church who are attending, or will be attending, two or four year colleges or trade schools. Applicants are eligible to receive yearly grants for up to four years of continuous higher education.
Now, still rebounding from the disruption of the pandemic, St. Luke’s lacks the previous opportunities to volunteer at church breakfasts, dinners or other fund-raisers. Help is always needed at our July Family Fair and we hope our Scholarship winners use this chance to show their appreciation.
In filling out your application, please focus on any community service where you have given your time and energy (did you help out at a Food Pantry or non-profit charity? Made phone calls or visits to the homebound?). Of course, we will be evaluating your academic achievement as well.
We invite you to apply by filling out the attached application. Typed responses are preferred (if handwritten, pay special attention to your cell phone number/email address). The deadline for the receipt of the completed applications is May 31st. Please return your filled- out forms to the church office at St. Luke’s, 18 James Lane, East Hampton, NY 11937.
PLEASE CLICK HERE for a copy of the application.
Scholarship checks will be mailed directly to your college tuition or bookstore accounts. Winners will be required to complete a minimum of five hours of community service within one year of receiving a scholarship grant. Hopefully in the near future, at least three of the volunteer events can be church-related.
