STEWARDSHIP at st. luke's

Our parish has much to be grateful for!

Making a stewardship pledge is the way many people support St. Luke’s ministries, from our daily operations and liturgical worship to our outreach ministries, music program, and more. You are welcome to make a pledge and honor that pledge as a single gift or by installments (i.e. weekly, biweekly, or monthly). GIVE HERE.

You will receive an acknowledgment from St. Luke’s, noting the amount you have pledged and thanking you for your contribution.

Please make your pledge as soon as possible because: YOUR GIVING MATTERS!

“ As we consider the countless blessings in our lives, we must first consider their source: God.

Psalm 24:1 -The earth is the Lord’s, and everything that is in it, the world and all who live in it. -

Live simply, give more, expect less and be grateful and gracious. We have been so warmly welcomed by the St Luke’s community and feel such a sense of gratitude, belonging and wonder. By supporting St Luke’s, we continue to build both our faith community and demonstrate our gratitude to God.”

“Thou shalt love the Lord Thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it: “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” This short statement is central to our belief as Christians. If we truly believe this, it will lead us to do good things in our lives, providing that we not only believe, but act upon this belief. This spiritual essence is a gift that is constantly being reinforced in this House of God. Denis and Father G are our main source of spiritual renewal and there are many other members of this parish who provide sources of spirituality in their own way. Sunday morning worship provides me with a fresh start each week. All of this requires money. As Christians it therefore behooves us to be as generous as possible with our pledges. I am increasing my pledge by 10% in order to help cover our higher expenses and I hope that you all will do the same.

Stewardship means different things to different people. To me it means doing my part to see that this church can continue to grow and thrive. That is why Jack and I pledge every year. It is not the amount that you pledge, although God tells us in the words of Timothy 1:6-18 “instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share”, but the act of pledging to this church is an act of faith in its future. Father Denis has exhorted us to “amaze him” with our pledges when he returns from sabbatical. Now it’s up to all of us to make that commitment to the future of St. Luke’s. In the back of the church there are pledge cards and envelopes. You can save yourself a stamp and fill one out this morning and drop it in the basket in the back of the church. On behalf of the Stewardship Committee, I thank you in advance for your generosity.
